The club offer a number of runs for what we called “Introductees” or for basically beginners as far as group riding is concerned. The aim of these rides is to impart the basic principals of riding in a group to gain confidence and speed/distance in their group riding whilst promoting safety in a group scenario. Ultimately riders in the Introductee grups should be aiming to move up to the medium groups after a period of time and once ability levels suggest a jump to the medium group is appropriate. Additionally, riders should leave feeling confident they could join the group rides of other clubs knowing they have the safety and etiquette experience in place.
The summer schedule for Introductee rides is:
- Thursday, 7 pm, Bells Hill Car Park, Introductory Group 1, 25-35 miles 15/16 average
- Thursday, 7 pm, Bells Hill Car Park, Introductory Group 2 20-30 miles 14/15 average
- Sunday 9.30 Bells Hill Car Park, Introductory Group, 30-40 miles 15/16 average
